The Aeryon SkyRanger is the UAS solution of choice for Norwegian company, IRIS Group. It has been approved for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) flight to inspect powerlines.

“IRIS Group has been awarded a permanent national approval for BVLOS Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV)/Drone operations for the electricity powerline grid throughout Norway. Norway has more than 400,000 kilometres of powerlines and such approval for UAS is quite unique in Norway and indeed across Europe.

“We highly appreciate the trust placed in us by the Norwegian CAA in granting this ground breaking BVLOS approval and the opportunity it brings to this new emerging technology to deliver cutting edge UAS operations, that benefit our clients in the energy industry”, IRIS Group CEO Neil Hunter states.”

Last month, Canadian company Ventus Geospatial Inc. and Canadian Unmanned Inc., also used SkyRanger as the VTOL sUAS flown for BVLOS testing and evaluation throughout the trials at the Foremost UAS Range.
