Chief Executive Officer
Bringing decades of experience, including as CEO with multiple high growth companies, Bill joined Aeryon in 2017. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Masternaut, an SaaS-based telematics and Mobile Resource Management solutions company, where he served as CEO in early 2015. From 2010 to 2013, Bill was CEO of Actix, a provider of mobile optimization software, which he joined in 2007 as a member of its Board of Directors. Earlier in his career, he served as CEO of DSET Corporation, a provider of telecommunications software, and as CEO of Cerebus Solutions, an artificial intelligence platform developer. Bill was a business major at Villanova University before serving in the U.S. Navy and reaching the rank of Lieutenant. He is a Vietnam veteran.
Chief Technology Officer & Co-Founder
Before becoming a founder at Aeryon Labs, Dave Kroetsch held a number of engineering positions at several companies, including PixStream, Cisco Systems, VideoLocus, and LSI Logic, where he developed hardware to deliver digital video systems. Dave earned his BASc and MASc in Engineering from the University of Waterloo and began his career in Aerial Robotics in 1997 when he founded the Waterloo Aerial Robotics Group, an organization that he managed for six years. Dave has been a member of the Board of Directors at Aeryon Labs since 2007.
Technical Director & Co-Founder
Mike Peasgood, a co-founder of Aeryon Labs, brings industrial experience in software development and team management to the Aeryon team. Currently, Mike leads teams focused on the technical design and system architecture of Aeryon’s solutions. He directly managed the development team, as Vice President of Engineering, from 2008 to 2014. From 2007 to 2016, Mike also served as a member of the Board of Directors. Prior to Aeryon, he held system design and architecture positions with several companies including PixStream, Cisco Systems, VideoLocus, and LSI Logic, where he focused on the development of digital video systems. Mike earned his PhD in mobile robotics, as well as his MASc and BASc in Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
Chief Financial Officer
With more than 20 years of experience as a senior operations and finance executive, John leads finance, administration, people operations, legal, customer support and IT operations. Previously, he was CFO at Scribble Technologies; CFO & VP Operations at Avvasi; COO and CFO, Americas for Odyssey Financial Technologies; COO/CFO of Telmetrics Inc.; CFO at Fastvibe; and VP Finance at FloNetwork. Earlier in his career, as Vice President with Ernst & Young Corporate Finance, John led financing and M&A advisory services for the firm’s technology clients. John has completed over 20 financing and merger transactions in excess of $1 billion in aggregate value. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Toronto.
Chief Product Officer
Dietmar Wennemer leads Aeryon’s Engineering and Production/Operations worldwide, ensuring Aeryon continues to build stronger, faster and smarter products for customers around the world. Dietmar brings over a decade of innovative product leadership experience to Aeryon, having held a number of high-ranking roles at influential tech companies, including Center, Siemens, and BlackBerry. As Senior Vice President of Product Development at BlackBerry, he developed and launched major product families in over 150 countries and across 400 carriers, leading teams of 1200 engineers worldwide. Born in Germany, Wennemer studied Mechanical Engineering at the South Westphalia University of Applied Sciences.
David Proulx joined Aeryon in 2015 as the Company’s Vice President of Product and Marketing. Prior to Aeryon, David held key corporate development, new business development and business management roles at L-3 Communications and BlackBerry, in both Europe and North America. He brings to Aeryon more than 17 years of extensive M&A, software licensing, business development and functional leadership experience. David holds a B.B.A. (Hons) with a minor in Economics from Wilfrid Laurier University.
VP, Global Defense & Government Programs
Tom Jackson is responsible for growing Aeryon’s largest market, Defense and Government. A retired U.S. Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel and Attack Helicopter Pilot whose military career spanned 21 years, Tom also has nearly 20 years of Defense and Energy industry experience working for such companies as GE Energy, Woodward Governor, and Sierra Nevada Corporation. Over his career, Tom has managed aircraft projects such as the PC-12, M28, and A-29 Super Tucano Light Attack Aircraft. Tom is a graduate of The Citadel and holds a Master of Business Administration degree in International Business from Regis University.
VP, Global Commercial Sales & Client Solutions
Mark Davis leads the worldwide Sales and Client Solutions organization at Aeryon. This team is responsible for all aspects of client engagement and enables the in-field success of all customers. Mark brings expertise in delivering new technology to global commercial & government sectors in Fortune 500 enterprise businesses, as well as startups. Most recently, Mark was Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Airware. Mark holds a Master of Science (M.S.), Masters in Management of Technology, Georgia Institute of Technology, and Bachelor of Science, Biology, University of Georgia. Mark joined Aeryon in 2016.
Executive Director of Military Sales
With more than 20 years sales management and business development expertise, Chuck Lownie has held positions with global companies such as MKS (now PTC) and Sybase (an SAP company). Lownie has an Honours Math degree from the University of Waterloo. Lownie joined Aeryon in 2009 and has been VP Sales since 2012.
