Imaging Systems

Aeryon Labs develops miniature, low-weight, gimballed, digital imaging systems.

Weighing a mere 112 grams, the Aeryon Scout daytime imaging payload is the lightest completely-digital, high-resolution, gimbaled camera available.

The following are typical features and values. Contact us about other configurations.

System features

  • extremely low weight
  • weather-proof enclosure
  • industrial temperature range
  • quick-connect insertion and removal in the system

Gimbal features

  • roll and pitch movement at 300 degrees per second
  • range of motion: +/- 60 degrees in roll; +90/-60 degrees in pitch

Imaging features

  • 5 megapixel stabilized still images
  • mechanically shuttered stills at up to 1/1000 second
  • real-time MPEG-4 compressed video at up to 640 x 480
  • several lens options depending on the applications

With a weather-proof enclosure this camera is suitable for a wide range of operating environments. Designed for industrial temperature range operation, this system is extremely light, making it suitable for airborne and miniature applications. The gimbal module allows the camera to compensate for motions of the platform carrying it, stabilizing the pictures and video.

The quick-connect mechanism designed into the gimbal system permits the gimbal to be attached to the system in a matter of seconds. This enables system users to swap between payload modules easily.

The modular nature of the system allows the sensor to be changed to optimize for near-IR sensing. When connected to the system, this module gathers mechanically and digitially stabilized real-time MPEG-4 video at up to 640 x 480. The video and stills can be geo-referenced based on the location of the system.
