Built in, intelligent fault-handling means the Scout reacts accordingly to any faults, including loss of communication links; high winds exceeding user defined preset thresholds; or low in-flight battery. How to deal with the unexpected is an absolute necessity to ensure aerial safety – a breakdown in the communication link between the unit in the air and the command station, sudden high gusts of wind, or low in-flight battery are all potential hazards. With all the intelligence built into the flyer itself, the Aeryon Scout automatically handles any of these situations – fly home to its original take off spot automatically and land, land instantly or hover and wait are all possible user defined resolutions to these situations.
Automatic Pre-flight Checks
Prior to each flight, the system self calibrates all of its sensors and performs a self test. If there are any damaged or improperly installed parts, such as an improperly installed propellor, the pilot is alerted before taking off. The system will not take off until it is completely safe to do so.
No Fly Zones
For added safety particularly in urban environments the system has the ability to set up no fly zones. This allows you to set up and define your own safety policies – perhaps no flying over a particular highway or avoid certain buildings – all of which can be enforced by the Aeryon system. The system can also enforce a maximum flight range ensuring your flight path doesn`t go beyond any of your pre-determined limitations.
Focus on the Task at Hand
The Scout system is self-managed, with all information displayed on one simple interface. Operational details such as monitoring battery levels or in flight wind speeds are handled by the system itself, freeing the operator to concentrate on the mission itself and the safety of others.
System to Battery Communication
Communication is always the key to success, even when it comes to batteries. With Aeryon`s Smart batteries, LED indicators show the charge level of the battery ensuring you will always choose a fully charged battery for a flight. The system displays not only the battery power remaining but the number of minutes of flight time available. As available flight time approaches the time required to complete the mission, the pilot is notified and Aeryon`s intelligent fault handling takes over.
Low Maintenance with Easy Software Upgrades
With only four electric motors, continued tuning of the system is not required. The system self calibrates and notifies the user of any damaged parts, which are easily replaced. Keeping the system up to date with the latest software is easy as all flyers can be updated over a wireless network in a centralized manner.
